Inspirational Story In Hindi and English : A Girl Who Sang Sweet

Inspirational Story In English : A Girl Who Sang Sweet

There was a girl sang beautifully at the temple every morning. The music master used to happily recall, “One day when I went into the woods to pluck flowers, I found this baby under a papal tree.” He picked it up carefully, raised her lovingly as if she were his daughter and taught her to sing before she spoke her first word.
The music master grew old and didn’t see too well. The girl tended to him caringly. Many people including young men travelled from far and wide to heat her sing. This made the music master’s heart quake with fear. “You will choose one of them as your husband. What is to become of me?” The girl replied, “I shall not be apart from harvest festival, the master’s chief disciple touched his feet reverently and said, “Master, grant me your permission for your daughter has agreed to marry me.” The master’s tears flowed freely, “She has chosen well. Go and fetch her let me hear you sing the first of many melodies that you will sing together.” The two began to sing in the arrival of the royal messenger. “Your daughter is very fortunate- the king has sent for her,” the messenger said, “I place upon you the honor of making sure my daughter is never unhappy at her husband’s home.” There wasn’t a single tear in the girl’s eyes but she thought of master and her heart was heavy.
That very night the princess began her journey to Kambhoj. The princess’s royal chariot led the procession and the girl’s palanquin followed close behind carrying trunks of silk, jewellery and precious stones. It was covered with a velvet sheet and had soldiers on the both sides. As the procession passed, the master and his disciple Kumarsen stood still by wayside. A collective sigh escaped the crowd gathered there wishing that the princess wouldn’t feel homesick in her faraway home.

Inspirational Hindi and English Story : The Sage And Disciple

Inspirational English Story : The Sage and Disciple

The great sage once had a group of disciples. They were all very bright and eager students and the sage had all the reasons to proud of them. One day the sage realized that he has imparted enough knowledge to his disciples. Now they were all very learned. There was only one thing the sage had not taught them, and that was the special verse that could bring the dead back to life. The sage knew that such knowledge was too wonderful and could prove to be a dangerous thing in hands of someone who was not very wise. The sage pondered over this for a long time. But he also knew that if he did not pass on the secret verse, it could be die with him. So, at last he called his cleverest disciple aside and said “I am going to teach you a very special verse. If you chant this you can bring to life a dead person or animal .Use only when you need it and never misuse or test your powers in vainly.” He then called all the disciples together and said “I am sending you all into the forest for forty days. Go together and come together. Each one you have to guide one another and do good things.”
So the disciples started out together into the forest. They were all united. But the clever disciple who knew the verse wanted to show he was better than the others. As they walked into the forest, they came across a dead tiger on the way. It was huge and looked wickedly fierce even when dead. The clever disciple stopped and said to the other, “Now I am going to show you what our teacher has taught me alone. He has taught me how to bring life back into the dead.” The others would not believe him and he said, “I will prove it to you by bringing this tiger back to life.” But other disciples said “do not do anything to prove your knowledge vainly. Moreover, if you put life into this tiger, it will only turn on us and kill us all. This will not be a wise thing to do.”
But the clever disciple had decided to prove himself and prepared to recite the verse. But before he died so, the other disciples scrambled up to the topmost branches of a big tree nearby. The disciple then recited the magical verse. The tiger slowly began to breath. “It’s working” cried the disciple in excitement and joy. The tiger opened its eyes and saw him jumping and shouting in front of him. Roaring loudly, the tiger pounced on the poor disciple and killed that disciple.
The other disciples on the tree watched helplessly as the tiger threw down the dead body of the disciple and went away into the forest. After some time the disciples came down, took the body and went to the sage. The sage looked at them and said, “Now you see what can happen if you don’t use your learning wisely. Let this be a lesson for you.” With that, the sage uttered the magic verse and brought the dead disciple back to life. The sage then taught the verse to all his disciples and sent them into the world to do well. He was sure that after such a lesson, they would be wiser and use their knowledge and learning only for doing good things.

Inspirational English Story : Honest Child

Inspirational English Story : Honest Child

Long ago, the Kingdom of Ghandhara was ruled by a just and good King. His subjects were very content, but as the King grew older, everyone wondered anxiously what would happen to Kingdom. After all the King did not have any children who could take over the reins of the Kingdom.
Now, the King was an avid gardener and put lots of time and effort into tending his garden and planting the finest flowers, fruits and vegetables. One day he proclaimed, “Tomorrow, I shall distribute seeds of the children of the Kingdom. The one plant within three months will be the prince of the princess.” The next day, there was a long line of parents and children outside the palace. Everyone was eager to get a seed and have the opportunity to be the next children. A poor farmer’s son was among these children.  Like the King, he too fond of gardening. His backyard was full of beautiful plants. He took the seed from the King and planted in a pot with great care. The weeks passed and he piled it with water and manure, but no plant appeared. He tried changing the soil and even transferred the seed to another pot, but the end of the three months, nothing had grown.
At last, the day came when the children had to go to the King to show him their plants. They started walking to the palace, dressed in their best, holding beautiful plants in their hands. The farmer’s son stood sadly, watching them go by. His father had watched him working hard with the seed and felt sorry for him. “Why don’t you go to the King with the empty pot?” he suggested. At least he will know you tried your best. “So the farmer’s son too wore his best clothes and joined the others outside the palace, holding his empty pot in his hand and ignoring the laughter of those who saw him. Soon the King arrived and began his inspection. “I have watered this beautiful flower with the water from the sacred river,” said one. “I have kept my plant in a beautiful glass house to protect it from weather,” said another. “I have spent all my spare time caring for this plant,” said a third. Thus the children came forward one by one holding flowers of different shades, which were both beautiful and healthy. The King however did not look happy. At the end of the line stood the farmer’s son, and when the King reached him he stopped in surprise “Child, why have you come with an empty pot? Could you not grow anything?” The boy looked down and said, “Forgive me, your highness I tried my best, I gave it the best soil and manure I had, but the plant would not grow.” The Kings face broke into a smile. He enveloped the farmer’s son in his arms and announced, “Here is the crown prince! I had given everyone roasted seeds, which would never grow. I wanted to see which child admits he or she had not been able to grow anything. Only this boy told the truth. I am sure he will rule our Kingdom with integrity.” And that was what happened. When the King grew old and died many years later, the farmer’s son, who had learnt everything from him, came to the throne and ruled Gandhara justly.

Inspirational Hindi and English Story : Wise Magistrate

Inspirational English Story : Wise Magistrate

During the reign of King Veer, there lived a wised magistrate. Haripant’s verdicts were always just and people from all over vast kingdom came to him in order to settle their disputes. In the city where Haripant lived, there was a greedy ghee merchant named Niranjan. He always kept twenty barrels of ghee. Of these, fifteen would contain good quality ghee and the remaining would be adulterated. He would mix the two and sell it. This went on for a long time, till finally the people fed up of being cheated, complained to Haripant.
Haripant had the ghee examined and found to it be adulterated. He gave Niranjan a choice of punishment-drink the five barrels of adulterated ghee from his shop, or receive a hundred lashings, or pay a thousand gold coins to the treasury. Niranjan thought for a while. Losing a thousand gold coins were too much and a hundred lashing too painful. So he decided to drink the five barrels of ghee. Though Niranjan sold adulterated goods in his shop, he made sure his own food was of the best quality. So after drinking one barrel of ghee he began to feel sick. By the second barrel, he was vomiting. At this point he decided to opt for the lashings instead. But he was pampered and his body was unused to any harsh treatment. After ten lashes, He started trembling and screamed. “I will pay the thousand gold coins!” And he handed Them over.
So he ended up suffering all three punishments, something he did not forget in a hurry and the people of the city got to use only the best quality ghee in their food from then on!

Inspirational English Story : Clever Raghu

Inspirational English Story : Clever Raghu

Raghu had been orphaned when he was quite young so he had learned to fend for himself. One day he was very hungry. Wondering what to do, he happened to pass a sweet shop and heard the shopkeeper tell his young assistant, “Look after the shop while I take a nap. Call me only if something important comes up.” Raghu smelt an opportunity. He waited for a short time and then entered. “I am the owner’s best friend’s son. Give me the best sweets in the shop.” The boy was suspicious and asked him his name. “My name is Fly.” said Raghu helping himself to some jalebis. As he sat eating, the boy ran to the owner, “Fly is eating sweets. What should I do?” the sweet shop owner was in deep sleep. He mumbled, “How much a fly can eat? Let him be.” Then he turned over and started snoring loudly. The poor boy could do nothing and watched him demolish a plate of jalebis. Finally Raghu took two boxes of the best sweets in the shop and left without paying.
These boxes he presented to Mahadev saying, “Here is a present for our city’s greatest man. Please accept this. I am a poor man and have nothing else to give you.” Seeing the box full of expensive sweets, Mahadev, who rarely parted with money, was delighted. “Sir,” continued Raghu, I have only one request. My I have the empty boxes please?” Mahadev was only interested in the sweets so he said graciously, “Of course. Ask my wife to give you two vessels for the sweets.” Raghu went to Mahadev’s wife and said, “Your husband has asked you to give me two gold coins.” The woman who was cooking lunch was astonished and said, “Are you out of your Mind?” My husband would never say such a thing!” So Raghu called out to Mahadev, “Your wife is refusing to give me what I asked for.” Mahadev was negotiating a handsome deal in his shop. Irritated by the disturbance he called out, “Give him what he wants.” So Raghu left with the gold coins in his pocket.
Days went by and Raghu made his living through his smooth talk and tall promises. The king heard about this. Raghu was brought to him under arrest. The king heard his story in silence and then said, “Since you are so clever study with the best pundits in the land. Use your wits for the betterment of the kingdom.” Raghu was silent. No one had praised him or offered him a better life before. He accepted the king’s terms and one day came to be known as one of the wisest of his ministers.
